Hair: Magic No Heat Hair Curlers

How did my hair go from straight and limp like this....

...to bouncy and curly this WITHOUT using heat??

Bored of your straight hair?
Wanna change up your look every once in awhile without damaging your hair?

The fastest way to curl your hair is by using a curling iron. But as we know, heat damages the hair. So when you're using a curling iron, make sure you use heat protection spray to minimise the damage. But if you're like me and can't really handle a curling iron well, why not try this easy alternative? :)

Thank you, Supermodel's Secrets for the chance to try this out. They are all about getting gorgeous, without surgery. I'm sure you've seen their ads on Facebook. I've watched videos on YouTube about these curlers before and have been quite curious to see how effective it is.
Misha sent me an email and the curlers arrived 2 days after she informed me that it was shipped. So efficient! It arrived in a big parcel and everything was nice and snug in a semi-transparent drawstring bag.

For added protection and to ensure the curlers don't fall out, they were kept in a ziplock bag.

Let's take a closer look! All the curlers are in good and clean condition. There are 18 altogether, enough for your whole head of hair, unless you have very thick hair. For me, I used 14 to curl my hair (Ahhh I have so little hair.. ><) Not sure what material they're made from, but it's quite firm. I chose the extra wide curlers and all the curlers were in the same size, width and length! (35cm long when stretched x 3.3cm in diameters)

What's this intimidating looking stick thing? Haha. It's actually the curler hook to hook on your hair and pull it into fit the curler. It was in 2 parts so it fit nicely in the bag but after I joined it together, I can't seem to pull the two sections apart..
Not sure if my explanation will be clear but you can check out the video below to get a better understanding! More instructions here.

Btw, the owner herself, Michelle, is demonstrating how to use the curlers in this video. She does demonstration and tutorial videos on YouTube to show how effective and simple the products are to use, and I really like that! Adds a more personal touch.

Aww.. They even attached a handwritten mini card for me and their namecard too. :)

Ok, so how do we use the curlers? You can check out my 15-second Instavideo to get a brief overview.

What you'll need:

Finally learnt how to make gifs! Made a few in this post, hope it explains the process better! *fingers crossed*

Step 1: Comb your hair and dampen it. I used the cute polka dotted magic comb bf got for me from Taiwan! You can either wet it with a handful of water or use a spray. Then, apply hair styling mousse like I did or curling lotion. This will help to hold the curls better and last longer.

Step 2: Put the curling hook into the curler then strtaighten the curler out like this.

Step 3: Separate your hair into few sections and choose a piece to work with. I started from the top. Twist the top of your hair near the roots to make it easier to hook on to.

Step 4: Pull your hair into the curler, gently. Hold the top of the curler to make it easier to pull your hair in. The first few times you might tangle your hair but after awhile, you'll master it cos it's not as complicated as it seems.

This is how it'll look like after you pull the hook out. Make sure the curler is curled cos sometimes it does go out of shape. You can pull the curler down a little if you want curls at the bottom. It's up to you where you wanna place them!

Repeat steps 1-5 for different sections of your hair.

Step 6: Leave the curlers on for 30 minutes to 4 hours. The longer you leave it on, the more prominent your curls will be. I suggest leaving it on for at least an hour, like I did.

Done with the whole head! I look so funny XD Used two different colours on each side for fun. This took me about 15 minutes to complete but practice makes perfect.

Step 7: Remove the curlers after an hour. It's very easy to remove, just pull it out slowly!

TADAA! How I look with the curls. The curls are bigger because I used the wide ones, but there are three sizes available too: standard, extra long and extra large. The ones I'm using are best be used by people with longer and thicker hair (10 cm below shoulders). You can use these curlers to style your hair for formal or casual events!

Sooo soft and natural! :D
Looks like I have highlights lol. I'm aware how bad my hair colour is now. Gonna dye on Friday, can't wait!

I love how easy it is to curl my hair and without damaging it! However, you must have ample amount of of time prior to an event to curl your hair with heatless curlers. Perhaps by using a hair dryer it will speed up the process? Anyway, you can get the Magic No Heat Hair Curlers (Extra Large and Wide Size) here. (:
