On the list of things that make me happy, this one is WAY up there. Ever felt what it's like to have your dreams come true? I'm on my way there, and I couldn't be more excited!
Yes, I have won myself an Invisalign contract!!!!!!
For those who don't already know, I'm letting you know officially here. 'Happy' is not even enough to describe my feelings when I received a text from Samantha of Nuffnang, telling me that I've won. I was at work, with the designer helping me out for some Photoshop when the text came. I peeked at the message from the corner of my eye and silently hyperventilated, but couldn't make a sound cos I was working. (I am a professional, ok :p) I was practically shaking when I replied the text, asking if I would be ok with any extractions. Of course I'd be ok with it, I'm getting my straight teeth! :D
Nuffnang announced the winners on their blog and email blast two days later and some readers were sweet enough to congratulate me on the previous post. If you have not read my entry for the #MYInvisalign contest, you can read it HERE!!
Posted the news on Facebook to share the good news and it garnered 200 likes and many congratulatory messages. I don't think I've had so many likes in a long time LOL. All my aunts texted to congratulate me as soon as my mum announced the news to them. Even gramma sprang a 'congratulations' on me the moment I reached home. Really, truly want to thank my family and friends for their support and for sharing my joy :')
I was told to go up to KL for the first ever meetup and briefing with the Sponsor of Invisalign on the 24th of April. It costed me another day of unpaid leave for that month, but so totally worth it :p I took a flight alone for the first time, albeit from JB to KL only, woke up at 5am but I was so stoked so, no complaints! I knew this was going to be a routine from now on if I were to do my Invisalign in KL. Thankful for Eunice who let me crash at her place for that weekend!
FYI, I arrived super early in KL Central from KLIA2 and waited there for about an hour before it was time for the meet-up and I decided to call a UBER. LOL. I even brought along my luggage to the NN office haha. I'm glad I met some friendly faces at the Nuffnang office (which seems so bright and fun, btw!) and also the two other winners of the contest, Valerie and Fadzi! And of course, Valerie from Invisalign too! She briefed us on the terms of the contract, what we are supposed to do and let us ask many many questions for about 2 hours before we finally placed our signatures on the contracts. I know I wasn't the only one who was excited! Since their HQ is in Singapore, I did ask if I can have my treatment done in JB or Singapore, in case you're wondering.. More on that later.
Fadzi and Valerie receiving their contracts, offer letter and a not-so-little gift from Valerie of Invisalign. These two are hot mummies who are gonna be even hotter after getting their Invisalign done! Wink wink ;)
My turn to get my prize. In my head, I was thinking, "I cannot believe this is happening!" And it all started because of my blog. Now I love blogging even more! It feels so surreal. It's probably a silly dream to most to want to get braces, but now I've gotten something way better. It's a different kind of effort put into achieving my dream. Instead of working maybe years to pay for regular braces, now I'm going to be a hardworking blogger and write about my experiences these coming years to share with my readers about my Invisalign journey. And I couldn't be happier to do so. Happiness is only true when it's shared, right? :)
Group pic! THANK YOU, Nuffnang & Invisalign for giving us the chance to get our dream teeth! <3 Such a contest is rare and we were the lucky chosen ones. I have no regrets and still feel like it's a lucky strike for me as I only submitted my entry 6 hours before the deadline after working on it the whole day. Haha. Gotta thank my sis and Audrey for telling me about the contest too! Notice how all of us have our teeth hidden behind our smiles in this photo. Guess it's going to be a very different case AFTER we've done the treatment! :D
Remember when I said that I asked about getting my Invisalign done in JB? Valerie said it was not possible at that time. But last week, I just received news from her that an orthodontist in JB (Q&M Dental, Molek) has agreed to sponsor my treatment here!! Right here in my hometown, and it's not even that far from my place! Oh. My. God. Good news just keep coming in and I am so, so thankful, I could cry. T.T
Big thank you to Valerie for asking Dr Matthew Hong for me, and of course big thank you to the dentist for agreeing. I am going for my first consultation tomorrow, so stay tuned for that post!
I realised that there are still not many people who know what Invisalign is. I will be talking more about that in the future as we slowly go along. To put it shortly, it is basically invisible braces, a modern approach to teeth straightening. My job now as an ambassador is not only to share about my road to straight teeth and my Invisalign experience, but to educate readers all over on what this revolutionary new technology is. Hopefully, I will not be TOO technical with my writing and it will be more relatable to you. And hopefully, it will inspire you to get your dream of having stratight teeth too :)
Don't forget to follow me on Instagram @carerynn to keep up with my Invisalign journey! I've created a unique hashtag so you can follow my posts via #carinnxinvisalign. You can also find out more about Invisaligns here.
Disclaimer: [Sponsored] I have received complimentary Invisalign treatment from Align Technology, Inc after winning a contest organised by Invisalign & Nuffnang. In exchange for that, I have agreed to promote and write about my Invisalign story. The review is written based on my honest views and personal experiences on the treatment.
