Shopping: Shopping on Taobao via SGShop Malaysia!

One of my greatest passions in life as many people know is SHOPPING. But most of the time, I try to source out the best deals which is why I love shopping on Taobao where everything is almost a fraction of the prices here! It can be quite tedious to shop on Taobao when you are half a 'banana' like me, so I'm really glad that SGShop came into the picture to solve that problem! See the huge parcel that I got? SGShop is a locally founded company that is committed to providing the highest quality of services for consumers when purchasing from Chinese e-commerce websites. They partner with the best logistics companies to ensure you receive your purchases ASAP. The new version website 3.0 launched in September has made your shopping experiences even better, and the team is constantly improving by upgrading the site from time to time. While I can't vouch that the delivery is the most prompt, I can justify that their service is really top notch. I accidentally placed the wrong size for one of my items and immediately emailed them about it. The SGShop customer service team promptly called me the next day to resolve the issue and I'm really pleased with that. Nothing ticks me off more than customer service centers that don't pick up your calls -_-

Now. I'm not going to go so much into detail on how to place your orders on the site as it's really a no-brainer but what you MUST take note of is that there are TWO payments needed for your purchase. The 1st payment (100% will be paid to the seller) is for the cost of your product + China domestic shipping. This payment is done once you checkout the items from your shopping cart.

The 2nd payment is paid to SGShop for their service charge + international shipping + clearance fee at customs. This is paid upon submission for International shipping. While I don't find this double payment method ideal (they will send you an email to remind you to pay for the 2nd payment), the cost shouldn't amount to too much. After you have submitted your orders, you are to select the preferred shipping method, whether by air or sea. For those who have asked me about shipping prices, here you go. I find that the prices are still quite ok if you're not buying something that is too heavy.

There are multiple ways to pay for your order be it via Credit balance, VISA/MasterCard, Internet banking or ATM transfer. These are just a few of the banks that are affiliated with SGShop that you can make payment on. For credit balance, you are to have sufficient balance in your account before you can pay with your orders. To top up the balance, you can either use Credit or Debit card.

After you have done the 1st payment, all you have to do is wait for the notification that your parcel has arrived at China warehouse before proceeding to the next step, which is International delivery. Notice that under the 'My Order' tab in your account that there are several tabs that nicely separate out to show the status of your parcel at the current moment. Any problematic orders will go to another tab and await your approval before being shipped. Anyway, after your items have arrived at the China Warehouse, all you have to do is click 'Submit Delivery' and they will calculate the rate for you to process your order. I got my parcel in about 3 weeks to a month, but that could also be my fault for not submitting the delivery as soon as SGShop notified me.
