Carinn x OOTD: Sammydress Haul!

It’s been way too long since my last Carinn x OOTD post and I do apologise for that! Recently, I received an email from a reader who says that she hopes I’ll post more about makeup looks and fashion on my blog. I’m honestly touched that you guys do keep up with me so I hope to be more active with my outfit posts in the upcoming months! Until then, make sure you check out my Instagram or Snapchat (@carerynn) for my latest outfit and makeup looks to tide you over ;)

I received these items recently from Sammydress, an international site that carries a wide range of affordable clothing, accessories, bags and more! I got to pick a few items that I’ve been eyeing for a long time. Most of them do fit my small frame just fine but I’d advise you to double check the sizing and measurements, especially for free size clothing, before you purchase. Still, I like the pieces that I’ve chosen as they are all pretty basic and easy to mix & match!

This is hands down my favourite piece from my Sammydress haul. It’s one of the pricier ones, which could contribute to the thicker material and sophisticated design. I didn’t really expect it to fit as most strapless tops end up being loose on me. The chest area is made of mesh so you’ll need to choose the right strapless undergarment or camisole to go with it. The lace detailing is lovely while the crisscross low-cut back is a sexy little surprise – the definition of business in the front, party in the back ;) The only thing is that the top is a little too long to go with shorts so I opted to pair it with a white fitted skirt for a chic all-white ensemble that is great to class up your look for any occasion.

This was one of the pieces that I mentioned which did not fit me well. The description on the website stated that and the model seemed petite enough! I wonder if I can get this altered as I really love the cutting! Nevertheless, it is a pretty pink piece made of .. material that is quite thick. You don’t really need to accessorise as the scalloped edges are outstanding enough. I’d wear this to a wedding dinner or prom and pair it with sweet pink makeup and a pair of simple heels.

Off-shoulder tops are all the rage lately so I finally caved in and got one for myself. Now I know what the fuss is about – it’s so comfy but stylish at the same time, a look you can achieve without trying too hard! Best part is, the shoulder part has a stretchable and adjustable band so it fits my narrow shoulders well. It doesn’t matter if the top looks oversized, that adds to the charm and texture. I chose to tuck the top into my denim skirt but you can wear it untucked as well and you’ll find that the back has a surprise slit :p I’d have preferred it in a different colour, perhaps white or black so I can wear it with different coloured bottoms J

I've been on the hunt for a Bohemian top for ages, so glad I found this lovely off-shoulder one from Sammydress! The material may be a little sheer, but it's still really pretty. Look at the lace design on it! I love that its so versatile as well, you can wear it with any pants or skirt and it'll still look awesome. I decided to style it as a Boho style with a brown suede skirt, lace-up gladiator sandals, string choker and the cherry on top - my trusty bucket bag! This should be one of the fave looks I've styled so far :)

Another one of my favourite pieces! PS: I did this self-shoot in the middle of the night in my room but I’m pretty pleased with the outcome XD I’ve always wanted a sexy one-shoulder sweater cos it looks so comfy. I only regret choosing this piece in M size (as I thought it’d be longer so I’d be able to wear it as a dress) but it turns out that the neck part is too wide for me. So I compromised by tucking into a pair of cute denim shorts for a casual and fun look. Or, you can choose to wear it with a singlet inside as well. Seriously, this knitted sweater is so comfy that I can sleep in it!

So, which look did you like best? Surprisingly, the overall material quality were quite good, especially the lacey white top and pink dress. I’m sure these two pieces are not easily available in blogshops here so I’m pretty pleased with my picks. The prices on Sammydress are all really affordable, I got these pieces for less than USD50! But I would advice you to check the reviews before getting as the quality can be quite a gamble. I'm lucky that my items are all of good quality. Do let me know which look you liked best ok! I have another compilation post coming up soon, stay tuned! :D
