Hey guys! Many of you have been asking about my Invisalign updates and I'm finally here to share some. For one, I was on my 40th pair of aligner (out of a total of 55) when my dentist, Dr Tiew, asked me to drop by his clinic to test out this new machine called iTero Element. iTero will help us to determine if I need to do some readjustments.

In the blink of an eye, I'm reaching the end of my Invisalign journey soon (10 more pairs to go!). Now, while it's much much more convenient than traditional braces, it's not all roses because this is still a teeth-straightening process after all. When I first started my Invisalign journey, I was mostly in the dark because I didn't know if what I'm doing is right and no one else around me had done this treatment before. Thankfully, my dentist and clinic was just a phone call away if I ever needed help or was unclear about something. Therefore, my top tip is to go to a clinic that has experience in providing Invisalign treatments so that you're ensured of the best care and treatment! 

With that being a top tip, I also realised that there are many other tips that I've learnt which I can share with you all. If you're considering the Invisalign treatment, read on!

Carinn x Invisalign: Opalescence Updated Method - RESULTS!

As promised, here's the results of my previous Opalescence DIY teeth whitening! Just to recap, Opalescence is a home teeth-whitening kit that comes with the whitening gel in a syringe. You are supposed to pair it with your retainers or aligners to get the best results. I have did this before following instructions from my previous dental clinic, but I received feedback from readers and the brand itself that THIS is the correct method to use the kit instead. Happy September! Why is this year flying by so fast.. Anyway, not long ago, I did a post on my DIY teeth whitening at home using Opalescence Teeth Whitening Kit. The results weren't as impressive as I thought and I recently found out that there's actually a more effective method to use this kit, which is what I'll be sharing about with you today! Here you go, my UPDATED Opalescence method! Things have been real slow with my teeth aka Invisalign treatment lately.. Since I've been put on retainers (indefinitely), I am currently still awaiting news from the orthodontist and Invisalign Malaysia on the next step.. It's a really long story, but let's not go there for now. Ever since I started my treatment, I've had friends who are curious how my aligners look like. There are also friends who have worn braces who are curious what are the difference between aligners and retainers. Lemme try and break it down to you in this post!

Carinn x Invisalign: 10 Months Teeth Progress (End of Invisalign 1.0 Treatment)

In a blink of an eye, I've been on my Invisalign treatment for 10 months now (a year, if you include the waiting process for the ClinCheck and mould to arrive). It's been nothing but a comfortable experience so far and I'm happy to see my confidence increase more and more as time goes by. I might sound quite conceited for saying this, but for people who know me, I never used to smile with my teeth showing because I was conscious about how my teeth looked. It's not the straight, pearly whites that most lucky people are blessed with. But I'm glad that I'm more confident smiling in photos now! I love smiling, looking "cool" doesn't suit me that well.

Any idea what's going on here? Yeah well, you probably know from the title already. It's time to reveal why I've been on pills. I've finally had the attachments on my teeth removed in preparation for my retainers! Yeap, I'm wearing retainers now.. 

Carinn x Invisalign: Painkillers for my Teeth?

Uh, I'm on medication... for my teeth. Remember when I said that my teeth hurt? Turns out, it's not just because of the teeth whitening.. Anyway, I'm on my 38th pair of aligners and during my last follow-up, my orthodontist realised that my two front teeth are a bit discoloured. He asked if I have experienced any tooth injuries lately, but I haven't. He then advised me not to wear my aligners anymore and go on painkillers for 2 days. o.o

Woot, finally back with another Invisalign post. Erm, this time round, it's not really good news because apparently, my teeth isn't tracking well.. What is tracking, you ask? It's when the orthodontist compares the current teeth situation with the original treatment plan to identify if the teeth is moving according to plan. Unfortunately for me, it's not moving as perfectly as we'd like...

I don't know about you guys but I don't really have a fear of going to the dentist since I was young. In fact, going on this Invisalign journey has made me actually look forward to going to the dentist because I feel so refreshed after each visit. Probably cos I know my teeth is on its way to getting nicer and straighter XD #vainlikethat. Even though my usual trips now consist of just doing teeth slimming and regular check-ups. I don't really like the feeling of having your teeth 'sanded' (read here) and also the numbness after putting numbing gel, but I'll live! Just some quick updates on my teeth status lately. I have more time on my hands now, so I'll try to drop by the clinic as often as I can.

Hey guys! Guess what? This is my first post written on my new MacBook XD Nah, saja wanted to write an introduction. I can't promise how often I'll be updating my blog just yet as I'm still learning how to use the MacBook lol. Carinn x Invisalign: Opalescence PF Take-Home Teeth Whitening System (DIY Teeth Whitening)

Er.. You must be wondering what am I doing? Haha. I'm actually administering DIY teeth whitening. Yes, right in the comfort of my very own home, in my pyjamas. Btw, the red/ purple in my hair has completely faded, ugh. I initially wanted to get my teeth whitening done before CNY and my orthodontist suggested that I use this teeth whitening system at home instead because a) not many Invisalign patients do whitening halfway through the treatment (they usually get it done at the end of the treatment) and b) I have more freedom to decide when I want to do it, since both types of treatments' results last equally long. 

Carinn x Invisalign : Buttons Reattached + Teeth Updates!

I went back last Saturday to have the buttons reattached. The funny thing is, one hour later as I was having my breakfast (McMuffin4lyf), one of the buttons fell off AGAIN -.- Thankfully I wasn't far away, so I went back to the clinic to have it reattached LOL. #thirdtimelucky and it finally managed to stay on. Hey guys, just a quick update on my teeth status. Remember a few weeks ago when I got buttons added on my teeth so I could wear elastics? A few days ago, something quite.. hilarious? tragic? fml moment? happened *points to above photo*. I was snacking in the office (as usual) and I think I was chewing on a hard candy when suddenly, I bit on something hard. Thankfully I didn't swallow because it turns out.....
