Beauty: Sunplay Skin Aqua Sarafit UV Essence & UV Mist SPF50 PA++++ [Floral Fragrance]

Here are my travel essentials. What's yours?

Now answer me this, what's the most important part of your skincare? If you do all the basic steps (cleanse, tone, moisturise) but fail to use SUNBLOCK, it's basically redundant in the end. Sunblock or sunscreen serves to shield your skin from the harmful UV rays of the sun. This slows down aging and formation of age spots! I used to be one of those lazy girls who hate applying sunblock until I found out about its importance.. Now I can't leave the house without it!!
Sunplay Skin Aqua Sarafit UV Essence SPF50 PA++++
If you followed my Instagram, you'll know that I previously did an Insta-review on the Sunplay Skin Aqua UV Watery Essence courtesy of Butterfly Project Beauty Bloggers, and I loved it! Really thankful to Mentholatum for sending over two more awesome Sunplay products to try out. One of it is this Sunplay Skin Aqua Sarafit UV Essence SPF50 PA++++.

A little insight about Sunplay Skin Aqua Sarafit UV before we begin. This range originated from Japan and is formulated using Double Silky Powder Technology which prevents the greasy or sticky feeling even after sweating. SPF50 PA++++ is the highest sun protection against UVA and this is contained in the Skin Aqua Sarafit UV to offer 16x protection against UVA rays that causes premature aging. Enriched with Hyaluronic Acid & Super Hyaluronic Acid, this range leaves your skin feeling hydrated throughout the day by targeting different layers of the skin. Collagen is also infused into the products to help improve skin elasticity to keep it smooth & youthful-looking.

The Sarafit UV Essence has been the No.1 skincare brand for 5 years and is best known for its ultra-light, silky smooth & matte finish. This sunscreen is suitable for leisure, outdoor or even indoor use. You can apply this sunblock daily and it won't feel sticky or heavy in our hot & humid weather. It can also be used as a makeup base and can be applied for both face and body. Sarafit UV Essence is colorant-free and mineral oil free to give you long-lasting UV protection and a smooth, comfortable feeling all day long.

Swatch: The product comes out in the form of a white cream that has a subtle floral fragrance.

What I dislike about most sunblock is that it feels sticky after application. So I was really glad when I found that this Sarafit UV Essence spreads easily without leaving any white residue or sticky feeling on the skin! Those kind of sunscreens feel like such a thing of the past. In terms of texture, I would say the previous Sunplay Skin Aqua UV Watery Essence feels more watery and less sticky compared to this, though.

To use, dab a few spots around your face and apply the product evenly onto face or body by spreading it out.
To be honest, I am a loyal supporter of Biore sunscreen because of the watery texture. With this Sarafit UV Essence, I may have just found a match for that because I use this daily now! I love how the sunscreen spreads smoothly on my skin and how gentle it is. A little goes a long way, plus the floral smell feels comforting, somehow. It goes well with my makeup and does not leave my skin feeling oily. The product is absorbed almost instantly into the skin and feels cooling & comfortable on my dry skin. I dislike the heavy, oily feeling some products give so this lightweight product complements my moisturiser well to give me hydrated skin.

What I love:
- Lightweight, watery texture
- Spreads smoothly, only a small amount is needed for the whole face
- Absorbs fast, leaves skin feeling hydrated
- Subtle floral fragrance
- No oiliness
- Doesn't leave white cast
- Gentle enough for daily use

What I don't:
- Very minimal sticky feeling but it goes away after a while

You can purchase the Sunplay Skin Aqua Sarafit UV Essence SPF50 PA++++ (50g) for RM40.00 in major pharmacies and supermarkets nationwide.

UPDATE: I used this sunblock while in Phuket and when I came back, my colleagues commented that I did not turn darker at all even though it was scorching hot. Would say this sunblock is a useful tool when it comes to protecting your skin from the sun!

Sunplay Skin Aqua Sarafit UV Mist SPF50 PA++++
Now, we've heard of sunscreen in tube form, but what about spray-on sunscreen? Sunplay Skin Aqua Sarafit UV Mist SPF50 PA++++ comes in a mist format to spray evenly at any angle and covers your back, toes or other hard to reach areas, easily. You can even use this on your hair & scalp, literally from head to toe! It is colourless and does not leave sticky feeling nor white residue as well.

Just like the UV Essence, this product will hydrate and replenish moisture to your skin as you use it as well. Other benefits of the product includes broad spectrum UV protection, is lightweight and fast-absorbing, sweat-resistant and has a gentle & mild formula. Sarafit UV Mist is alcohol-free, colorant free and mineral oil free as well.

After removing the base packaging, the can has a protective seal to be removed as well.

Popped off the cap and gave the bottle a good shake before I sprayed it on. At first the product comes out in a light, whitish mist.

After spraying it a few more times, I find that the white colour disappeared and I'm left with a colourless by-product. As you can see, it leaves a slight matte finish on my skin which feels so smooth to the touch! It also contains the same refreshing floral fragrance. This product is very similar to the UV Essence just that it comes in a more convenient form.

To use, hold the can about 10 - 15cm away, spray liberally and evenly on your targeted body area. For the face, DO NOT spray it directly but instead spray some onto your hands and apply onto face. It can be difficult to gauge the amount since the product is transparent though. Please try and avoid inhaling the mist or spraying near the eye area!

I'm in love with this Sarafit UV Mist because it's so quick and convenient! Before I leave the house, I just apply the UV Essence on my face and for the body, just a quick spray on using this mist would do. The mist is very fine and almost feels like it's not there. But don't doubt that it's not there. I don't usually reapply sunscreen to avoid ruining my makeup but this is so convenient to bring around for touch-ups during the day! Not to mention, it leaves a cooling sensation to refresh the senses!

What I love:
- Quick & easy to use, especially for body
- Silky, matte finish
- Very fine mist & colourless so no rubbing-in needed
- Lovely floral fragrance
- Convenient for touch-ups or reapplication throughout the day

What I don't:
- Not travel friendly, I guess, since it comes in the form of an aerosol spray
- Can be hard to gauge the amount used

Some tips for using sunscreen:
- Reapplication is encouraged after perspiring, towel-drying or vigorous outdoor activity,
- Remove all traces of sunscreen with facial cleanser or soap.
- Do not stay too long under the sun even while using a sunscreen product to avoid sun damage to your skin.

You can get this Sunplay Skin Aqua Sarafit UV Mist SPF50 PA++++ (50g) for RM42.30 from leading pharmacies and supermarkets nationwide.

Overall, I believe I have the best combination for face and body sunscreen now. You can find out more about Sunplay Skin Aqua products HERE.
