Nail-art: O.P.I Minis - Little Bits of Neon

This post is an ode to the little things in life. I received these O.P.I Minis from Polishville and boy, are they adorable! If you haven't already heard, Polishville is your one stop destination to purchase coveted nail polish and nail accessories that are not easy to find in Malaysia, at affordable prices. I did a swatch previously on China Glaze 'Goldie but Goodie', you can read it HERE!

These minis are part of O.P.I's Little Bits of Neon collection. It's not a very new collection, but it never runs out of style! You can purchase the entire set of five colours from Polishville at RM69 which to me, is a very reasonable deal seeing as one bottle of normal-sized O.P.I polish retails for RM60 in stores. Now you can have a different colour for each nail at a knock-off price!

I love neon colours because they are so bright and striking, but never had the courage to pull them off. Thankfully, I can wear them on my nails. I got to pick 3 colours of my choice and aside from the Coca Cola Red, I picked Juice Bar Hopping (orange) and Hotter Than You Pink. I think these colours would go so well together for a summer party!

Polishville also generously gifted me a bottle of the well-known Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat! I was so thrilled to receive this as I've heard so much reviews about how good it is. Now I can put it to the test for myself. This 14ml bottle is selling for RM27 at Polishville. While you're there, do check out the base coat too which is said to be the perfect combination with the Seche Vite top coat.

Disclaimer: It was a bad idea to use the top coat as my base coat haha. I washed it off after that and used my own base coat/ transparent nail polish. However, you can see just how shiny the Seche Vite is!

I decided to alternate the colours on my nails for a manic colour party. Starting off with the fun neon pink...

Then flirty orange...

And finally, hot red. Even though this is a mini sized polish and more swipes are needed to colour the entire nail (check out how tiny the brushes are!), the consistency of the polish is just as good as the normal O.P.I polishes and does not disappoint. Whoever said small isn't up to standards? Colour payoff is wonderful and true to its name while it goes on smooth and non-streaky. I really can't praise O.P.I polishes enough as they are one of my favourite "high-end" nail varnishes!

Last but not least, apply the Seche Vite on your nails after the polish has dried to give it extra protection and higher shine. Because this is the quick dry top coat, it literally dries in less than a minute! Really saves a lot of time and paranoia of accidentally ruining your freshly painted nails.

Optional: Clean up the edges of your nails with a cotton bud dipped in nail polish remover or in my case, nail polish remover wipes.

My flirty, colourful nails are done! They are undeniably eye-catching yet does not clash because the colour scheme is too perfect. I love it! See how glossy they are with the top coat on. I am not digging the Seche Vite top coat as I feel it does not last long and my nails do chip quite fast. It might be due to the activities that I do or the O.P.I polishes itself but I feel that the formula can be improved. I would still use it though because it dries so fast and goes on smoothly. It is a love-hate relationship after all.

If you're keen on purchasing these imported nail polishes and nail-art tools, do check out Polishville's website or Facebook page for more brands and colours!
